Just like that your mood improves and you wonder 'If something so simple can make such a difference, why don't we smile more often?'In What's in a Smile?, Director Andy De John explores this very question. As long as he can remember, Andy has been a 'brow-furrowing,' skeptic. But through this film he sets out to test whether smiling more often can really transform his life and make him a happier person. In the process he seeks out a diverse cast of mentors who teach him to appreciate the unique and powerful effects of a smile. From Laughter Yogi's to cancer patients, Andy leaves no voice unheard in a quest to discover whether happiness can be a choice. What's in a Smile? is a lighthearted film about a man who resolves to take control of his own emotions. With every encounter, Andy learns that smiling and happiness don't always come in the same package, but that the simple act of smiling can be a step in the right direction.
