Detailed Synopsis: We've all been there. You're in the onslaught of a day when nothing seems to be going right--when suddenly a stranger smiles at you and you can't help but smile back. Just like that your mood improves and you wonder 'If something so simple can make such a difference, why don't we smile more often?'In What's in a Smile?, Director Andy De John explores this very question. As long as he can remember, Andy has been a 'brow-furrowing,' skeptic. But through this film he sets out to test whether smiling more often can really transform his life and make him a happier person. In the process he seeks out a diverse cast of mentors who teach him to appreciate the unique and powerful effects of a smile. From Laughter Yogi's to cancer patients, Andy leaves no voice unheard in a quest to discover whether happiness can be a choice.What's in a Smile? is a lighthearted film about a man who resolves to take control of his own emotions.
