Director Statement
The concept of this film was inspired by my Nana, my Mother’s Mother, who in 1960 tragically lost her husband. My Nana’s strength as a woman and mother who raised a wonderful family with such struggles has always inspired me. I wanted to take the image of my Nana and create a film from my eyes and
perception of the story I have been told all of my life that honored both my Nana and my Grandfather, whom I have never met. My passion is film; having the ability to create images and actions reflecting on what I see and feel. I’m spirited in expressing my message through films in ways that people can relate to, think about for days, weeks later. When a film is capable of shaping one’s life after a visual and emotional experience,
that’s why I thrive to inspire, for I am each and everyday by the world that surrounds me.
